Tore down, with my coffee.
I stopped at the coffee shop this morning. As I was leaving the coffee shop I could not help but notice the big two-story white house across the street (Charlestown Rd) just received its first whack from an industrial backhoe. This thing had a reach of over three stories and the bucket had a thumb for grabbing. I sat and watched them tear down the entire front of the house, it was kinda weird.
One of the workers was spraying water on the house as the roof and walls were knocked in, he was using what appeared to be a fire hose and I’m sure it was to eliminate any possible spontaneous combustion. The backhoe operator was very good, it’s like the equipment was an extension of his own arm. He used it to make sure the building collapsed in on itself instead of outward.
I left after about 20 minutes, I’m sure the next time I drive by it will be gone.
